From region-specific AI education to corporate AX transformation support… Promoting the creation of an AI innovation hub in Gwangju·Icheon
Dongwon University Lifelong Education Institute and Emotionwave Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the establishment of an AI·AX (Artificial Intelligence Transformation) innovation ecosystem in the eastern Gyeonggi region.
This agreement was established to build a regional AI innovation hub encompassing Gwangju City and Icheon City, centered around Dongwon University, and to promote the AI transformation of local businesses and institutions. The two organizations plan to enhance regional AI competitiveness by establishing a cooperative system connecting education and industry.
According to the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in various fields, including ▲joint planning of Gwangju·Icheon AX hub projects in Gyeonggi Province ▲discovering AX needs for local businesses and public institutions ▲operating region-specific AI·AX education programs ▲fostering specialized human resources ▲building AI·AX demonstration environments, and creating regional innovation infrastructure.
Dongwon University Lifelong Education Institute will serve as an AI education hub based on lifelong education in the local community and industry-specific talent development, while Emotionwave plans to support the spread of AX in the local industry based on its AI education content, digital transformation solutions, and practical AI training experience.
The two organizations plan to use this agreement as an opportunity to create an AI ecosystem where universities, corporations, and the local community grow together, thereby contributing to strengthening regional industrial competitiveness and nurturing digital talent.
Director Jo Seung-hyun of Emotionwave said, "AI is not a technology for a specific industry but a core infrastructure that determines the competitiveness of the entire local community," adding, "We will actively support regional companies in utilizing AI in their actual work by building an AI education and AX innovation hub representing the eastern Gyeonggi area with Dongwon University."
This agreement is valid for three years from the date of signing, and both institutions plan to expand joint projects to vitalize the local AI ecosystem through continuous cooperation.
