Emotionwave is a venture company that has developed original technologies and content applying mixed reality performance technology to web environments, broadcasting, and performances since 2012, achieving various patents and international standardization. In 2017, the company successfully developed and commercialized RIMA (Robotic-Instruments Music for All), which includes six types of artificial intelligence autonomous performance robots and AI music platform technology. Early this year, by confidently showcasing at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, USA, it has received much attention and interest not only from Korea but also from many music, education, and entertainment professionals overseas, such as in the US and UK, and is dedicated to global business. Furthermore, last month, it successfully held and showcased a traditional Korean music concert where AI created and performed traditional Korean music for the first time in the world, drawing attention and interest from many media outlets and press.

Emotionwave will hold <RIMA XR Concert>, which showcases the new technical standard for online concerts, encompassing 4th Industrial Revolution technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomous performance robots, 5G, Extended Reality (XR), and Volumetric, from November 26th to 29th at the special stage in Citizen Plaza, Haengbok-ro, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do.

This concert features RIMA AI BAND participating with immersive performances and stages alongside musicians from various genres such as pop songs, classical, Korean traditional music (Gugak), jazz, and tango within large signage.

In this performance, the concert proceeds centered around RIMA's piano and drums without any human performers.

The RIMA AI BAND, composed of a total of 6 types of instruments including piano, drums, percussion, marimba, guitar, and bass, can perform music of all genres without professional musicians, based on big data of over 100,000 songs containing instrument performance information and music metadata. Furthermore, it is possible to have free ensemble playing and spontaneous improvisation with actual professional performers.

While maximizing the experience of VR and AR often required wearers to use dedicated hardware such as headsets and glasses, this time, with the <RIMA XR Concert>, it is possible to enjoy a highly realistic concert experience through the RIMA AR app with just a 5G device.

At Happy-ro Citizens' Plaza, the 'Rima Artificial Intelligence Band' performs dazzling music, and performers are displayed on kiosks within a virtual reality environment for a musical performance. By running the RIMA AR app and pointing the device at the stage, you can meet realistic music and artists where volumetric technology and augmented reality-based dancers, singers, and musicians, along with various spectacular objects, are linked to the live performance.

An official from Emotionwave said, "Due to COVID-19, we enjoyed wired concerts through cathode ray tubes and online channels, but this Rima extended reality concert held at Happy-ro Citizens' Plaza is significant because citizens can directly see and experience technology and art in an open space.".
