Emotionwave held an invitation lecture online at Ewha Womans University today, December 29th, Thursday, at 6:30 PM.
The lecture topic was 'Music Education Utilizing AI and Metaverse Technology' and it was conducted for current teachers and pre-service teachers enrolled in the Music Education major at the Graduate School of Education, Ewha Womans University.
This special lecture was planned to help with understanding and practice how AI and the metaverse can be applied to music and the field of music education now that overall educational operations have become non-face-to-face since COVID.
The lecture consisted of 5 sections: 1. Metaverse, 2. Metaverse and Education, 3. AI, 4. AI and Music, and 5. AI and Education, and it was conducted for a total of 70 minutes.
What received the most attention at this lecture was our self-developed metaverse-based AI music education platform, 'MEW(뮤)'.
MEW is a platform developed to revolutionize the increasingly common non-contact lifestyle and both online and offline educational environments. It provides customized educational services based on big data and AI through digital apps and web software, supporting music education and learning in non-face-to-face settings.
Unlike existing non-face-to-face education platforms that only provided online platforms, MEW considers the characteristics of music education, where interaction between students and teachers, or learners and instructors, is important—such as theory, appreciation, singing, and ensemble playing. Therefore, we have built an integrated online and offline metaverse education system by linking the 'MEW APP' for utilizing the MEW platform, the 'MEW AI Piano' which supports remote learning, and the 'MEW Music Place,' an offline music education space.

The MEW AI Piano is a smart piano that allows for self-directed and remote learning based on AI performance. It is equipped with a 49-inch ultra-wide display, allowing users to appreciate and learn content on a large screen, and provides various features and intelligent learning support systems such as AI performance function / Silent Piano function / Digital Piano function / Smart 7 pedals / AI hand correction camera / AI assistant, offering the user an optimal practice environment.
▶ MEW Music Place
MEW Music Place is an offline education and culture space that concentrates Emotionwave's edutech capabilities. It supports users' learning by providing various contents based on MEW's online service platform.
Through building an integrated online and offline metaverse education system, MEW provides comprehensive learning services and full-cycle solutions for music education, such as 'Remote Education using the MEW AI Platform,' 'Music Education using the MEW AI Piano,' and 'MEW Metaverse Music Education' utilizing VR devices.

MEW Metaverse Music Education provides music activities that students usually have difficulty experiencing due to physical or resource constraints, by realizing them as immersive content in a pre-education format. In the metaverse space, students can create their own avatars, construct learning scenarios, and role-play, enabling creative and self-directed learning.
