On February 5th, Emotionwave announced that it has completed a patent application for 'A method for Audience participation type extended reality concert service.'
The research director of Emotionwave's Technology Development Research Institute stated that while services where viewers can watch live performers like singers or actors in real-time through monitors, and the performers can monitor audience reactions captured by individual viewer cameras on a display, are becoming common due to the recent surge in demand for non-contact services and the development of two-way communication technology and internet media, there is currently no technology commercialized to deliver this experience more realistically.
Therefore, Emotionwave announced that it has developed a technology that integrates core technologies secured by Emotionwave—extended reality-based performance transmission and mutual communication technology, performance copyright technology, ultra-low latency video sending/receiving technology, immersive audio technology, and artificial intelligence media creation and copyright technology—to enable performers or performance planners to provide differentiated services to individual audience members.
This technology is a technology developed through Emotionwave's participation in the Gyeonggi Contents Agency NRP 2020 project.
It is expected that this technology will overcome the limitations of existing non-face-to-face performance and art delivery technologies, allowing for the delivery of more immersive works to customers.
Emotionwave Research Institute on February 5, 2021
-End-
