Emotionwave Selected for NIPA's 2019 'ICT-Culture Convergence Lab' Project

Selected for the 2019 ICT-Culture Convergence Lab project hosted by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), Emotionwave will carry out a NEW PLAYER project until December. They plan to release a new album using songs created with the AI composition engine HUMANLIKE.
PD So Sung-soo, who is directing this project, said that they plan to direct four songs based on two methods: one for creating a new album through collaboration between artificial intelligence and humans, and another for arranging existing songs. Director Jo Nam-hyun, who is in charge of music direction, stated that he plans to revive the material into music that sounds good and is popular to the final consumer by fusing it with human arrangement skills based on various phrases and motifs created by artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, Director Chun Eun-hyung, who is in charge of technology, said that he will be responsible for robotics and mechanical parts, and help build a technical environment where the RIMA robot band can perform in the most human way using creative data generated by AI, enabling the successful direction of the final performance and music video. Kim Se-hwan, a researcher in charge of AI composition technology, said that they will conduct diverse and natural AI creation using New Age, Classical, and Popular Music genres by utilizing TensorFlow and Emotionwave's HUMANLIKE technology.

The Emotionwave AI team participated in the ICT Culture Convergence Lab launch ceremony on September 5, 2019, where they presented their planned project and research value to the lab committee and received consultation and support from various experts.

That is all.
