Hello everyone, this is Emotionwave.
Today, as part of the 2022 CUop program, Professor Hyung Yong-joon (former CEO of Cyworld) from KAIST and KAIST students visited our company.

CUop is Company-University Coopan acronym for Company-University Cooperation, a cooperative program that forms a collaboration between the human and physical resources of science and technology specialized universities and the industry-academia cooperation network of companies.
It was launched to build a foundation where students and companies can actively participate through practical problem-solving based industry-academia linkage programs, thereby solving real local field problems.
In the CUop program, current students at science and technology specialized universities experience companies, define technical difficulties and improvement needs of the company during that process, and solve these problems through project-based regular classes.
The tasks we will solve with KAIST this time are the Design of an AI practice assistance system for piano using mobile devices and cameras, and the Development and Design of a wearable/modular AI instrument learning assistance device.
Although society is rapidly becoming untact due to COVID-19, music education still has not moved beyond the traditional apprenticeship model.
In some non-face-to-face music education settings, learning mostly occurs through video chat platforms like Zoom or Skype, OTT platforms, or recorded videos.
In fields like music education, where detailed coaching requires directly seeing and hearing posture, breathing, and sound, the learning efficiency is significantly reduced with these learning methods.
To solve these problems, we have developed a non-face-to-face AI music education platform called mew.
mew provides a customized learning system based on individual preferences such as desired genres, learning levels, and instruments to learn by utilizing AI through proprietary educational development. It also supports both instructors and learners' class processes with learning tips and AI reports based on learning outcomes.
mew consists of the mew app, the mew AI Piano which supports remote learning, and mew Music Place, an offline music education and cultural space; the main item of this convergence capstone project with KAIST is the mew AI Piano.

mew AI Piano is a smart piano equipped with a 50-inch wide display and various AI-based intelligent assistance systems to support smooth remote learning and practice for mew platform users.
We plan to develop an AI practice assistance systemby attaching a camera to the top of the piano so that it can analyze and correct the user's hand shape with KAIST students, which identifies and datafies the joint elements from the user's fingertips to the wrist area.
To this end, KAIST members directly experienced the mew AI piano and were impressed by its excellent technology and high usability.

We will continue to be Emotionwave, creating a new culture where anyone can easily enjoy creative activities through the convergence of art and technology.
Please look forward to the non-face-to-face AI music education platform mew, coming in the first half of this year.
Thank you.
