Emotionwave is holding the world's first on/offline mixed music metaverse festival, 'Muta FESTIVAL,' in collaboration with SK Telecom at 'ifland.' This festival connects with various offline and retail spaces such as Starfield and Hyundai Department Store.
This Muta Festival, running from September to the end of the year, will showcase digital human live broadcasts and events linked to offline and retail spaces through ifland, as well as talent scouting for musicians who will perform in the metaverse and digital twin concerts.
In particular, it is scheduled to feature artists' dances and performances created with volumetric AR technology within a metaverse signature stage connected to each artist's unique musical color. Starting with Hyojin Choi at 6 PM on the 15th, various artists such as Park Wan-kyu and Jin Seon are preparing performances in the metaverse.
Since 2020, Emotionwave has pioneered diverse and unique concerts by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and immersive media technologies. This includes AR concerts linked to actual offline spaces, and even metaverse concerts that combine digital twin technology between VR virtual performance venues and offline concert halls, such as the AI pianist 'Hanul' showcased in the second half of 2021.
The programs for this Muta Festival are designed with various components, including a 'Metaverse Musician Scouting Project' to find musicians who will perform in the metaverse, 'Metaverse Music Concerts' linked to regional festivals, and the world's first digital twin-type metaverse classical concert. These are structured to be combined with local offline festivals until the end of the year, aiming to establish a new platform for artist activities in the metaverse environment, providing opportunities for performances, broadcasts, and album releases combined with various technologies, and finding protagonists for performance and broadcast activities in both virtual and real worlds.
Director Park Sung-hyun of Emotionwave, who is overseeing Muta Festival, stated, "Muta Festival will be a festival that connects many elements such as content, but also user experience and immersion by linking the actual space and the virtual space using Emotionwave's own metaverse technology and artificial intelligence technology, and it will become a regularly held event."
