A concert that made the last weekend of this year more special was held at the Fountain Plaza in Sangnam-dong, Changwon City, at 6 PM on the 27th.
Citizens gathered at the venue, drawn by the beautiful melodies of Nela Fantasia and Cinema Heaven heard from somewhere, followed by cheerful carols and K-POP performances. In front of them was an empty stage with only musical instruments placed upon it. The citizens, who were momentarily puzzled, soon discovered that robots were playing all the instruments on the stage. While everyone burst into laughter, the eyes of the young audience members were fixed on the movements of the robot fingers running across the piano keys. This is a scene from Changwon City's '2019 Year-End Concert with Robots.'
During the 90 minutes, when the guitar, drums, and piano moved by themselves to play music, a bandoneonist appeared, presenting a collaboration between robots and humans. Citizens also enjoyed participating in the performance, such as singing along to the accompaniment of the robots. The Fountain Plaza became both a concert hall and a robot exhibition hall.

The city has been planning the robot content industry since 2020 for the spread of robot culture, which will serve as the foundation for fostering the robot industry. As a start, they prepared this event. It is Changwon City's strategy to combine content that people can enjoy with the industry of robots, and to develop Changwon City into a robot culture city by growing robots not merely as an industry but as cultural and educational content related to them.
Heo Seong-mu, Mayor of Changwon City, expressed high expectations for the future robot content industry, stating, "If we provide an opportunity to apply unlimited ideas—such as environments and contents where robots can interact closely with people—right at our doorstep, in the near future, Changwon City will be called a city of mechanical art, a Muse for robots."
