The Seongnam Culture Foundation announced on the 1st that the Seongnam Media Center was selected as a metropolitan area participating institution in the '2026 AI Lounge Hub Operation' contest, which is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National AI Agency (NIA). This project aims to support all citizens in easily and familiarly experiencing and learning about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and utilizing it in daily life, creation, and solving regional community problems.
Seongnam Media Center will jointly promote the metropolitan area project by forming a consortium with the Korea Media Center Association and 5 regional media centers in the Gyeonggi area (Goyang, Gimpo, Seongnam, Anseong, Hwaseong), and Emotionwave, an AI technology specialized company. The core program, 'My AI Lab,' operates as a practical project where citizens discover local issues and explore solutions using artificial intelligence technologies such as generative AI. It plans to expand AI accessibility and utilization opportunities by preparing customized programs that reflect the characteristics of information-vulnerable groups, thereby contributing to bridging the digital divide.
