Dankook University GTEP Project Group (Director: Professor Jeong Yoon-se of the Department of Trade) announced on the 12th that youth traders participated in supporting overseas marketing activities for 'Emotionwave' (CEO Jang Soon-chul), a small and medium-sized enterprise located in Yongin, at MWC 2024, the world's largest mobile exhibition held in Barcelona, Spain.
The MWC Barcelona exhibition is the world's largest mobile communication exhibition, with participants from approximately 200 countries. Yongin Special City appointed Dankook University GTEP (Regional Specialized Youth Trade Expert Training Project Group) as 'Export Interns' in 2023 and has been supporting local companies with domestic exhibitions and overseas marketing.
'Emotionwave,' which participated in the exhibition, is an AI and metaverse-based music platform company established in 2013.
Emotionwave exhibited RIMA and AIMPLE Studio as its main products. RIMA is an automatic musical instrument played through AI-based IOT technology without a performer.
AIMPLE Studio is a digital human platform based on generative AI that supports anyone to act as a digital human.
The RIMA automatic performance drum attracted a lot of attention, appearing in the main promotional video hosted by MWC and being uploaded to the Instagram and official promotional videos highlights of 4YFN, the organizer of the startup special hall.
In particular, it conducted interviews with broadcasters from Japan, Spain, and Chile, as well as Associated Press (AP). According to overseas marketing results, it signed MOUs with three Spanish companies and discussed future export plans, leading to several on-site meetings.
Jeong Hyun-joo (4th year, Department of Trade), who supported exhibition promotion marketing, interpretation, and export consultations, reported that Roberto, the CEO of an art management platform company that visited Emotionwave's booth, highly praised it, saying, 'This is the most interesting booth I have seen at this exhibition. It's a booth I want to see in the main hall of the exhibition.'
CEO Jang Soon-chul expressed his satisfaction, saying, "We had many consultations with active European buyers at this exhibition, so we expect future export results," and "In particular, we were able to achieve great results with the support of young trade professionals from Dankook University."
Jeong stated, "I am happy that through this exhibition, we could introduce Korea's competitive and interesting AI metaverse technology to the European market," adding, "Through this opportunity, I hope that Korean companies will receive more attention from around the world."
