Emotionwave (CEO Rio Jang) announced that the Korean traditional music album ‘Arirang 2021’, created and performed by the artificial intelligence robot instrument RIMA, will be released through online music sites starting on the 30th of this month.
‘Arirang 2021’ presents songs showcased as a live album from the 'Gugak Mechatronica' artificial intelligence Korean traditional music creation performance held last year.
Gugak Mechatronica is an artificial intelligence music project performance where AI self-created and performed, based on Sosan Seowon, a representative tourist attraction in Siheung-si. It was hosted by Siheung-si and organized by Emotionwave Arts.
The Gugak Mechatronica, which was conducted as an online performance, featured skilled Korean traditional music artists such as 'Ahn Yiho' of the Daychi Band and Haegeum player 'Lee Seunghee', 'Min Yuseon', etc., and drew attention as the first case of creating and performing Korean traditional music with artificial intelligence technology.
The artificial intelligence robot instrument RIMA is composed of a robot drum, robot guitar, robot bass, robot percussion, robot marimba, and robot piano. It can self-create and perform music in various genres such as classical, new age, jazz, rock, and Korean traditional music through machine learning and deep learning using over 50,000 songs' music big data.
The album 'Arirang 2021' is scheduled for release on July 30th and can be streamed on online music sites such as Naver VIBE and FLO.
