Bandoneon player Jin Seon participates in an artificial intelligence metaverse music project. It is 'Classic Mechatronica' held at Stage 66 on November 4th, with the subtitle 'Bandoneonist Jin Seon Concert - Encounter (遭遇·Jo-u)'.
In this concert, Jin Seon will participate not only as a bandoneonist playing the bandoneon but also as a music director and producer. It is said that this concert will be a new stage fused with ICT technology, featuring collaborations with Jin Seon appearing in a Volumetric-based virtual environment, and collaborations with an AI piano on stage.
Jin Seon will present representative pieces of classical, movie OST, and tango genres centered around the bandoneon, accompanied by violin, viola, cello, and piano.
Volumetric, which is somewhat unfamiliar, is a technology that captures the movement of a person in a chroma key background studio equipped with hundreds of 4K-level cameras to create a 360-degree stereoscopic video. The virtual human created using this volumetric technique is called a 'digital human.'

This performance is an artificial intelligence metaverse concert held as part of the 2022 Content Culture Plaza Convergence Contents Demonstration Support Project, sponsored by the Korea Creative Content Agency. The Convergence Contents Demonstration Support Project is a program that develops and supports content leading the convergence of art and technology, and this performance showcases virtual humans and spaces expressed with AI music technology, performance robotics technology, volumetric, and XR technologies, as well as digital twin technologies linked to stage and stagecraft in real-time live.
'Classic Mechatronica' is also the fifth Mechatronica series, following 'Jazz Mechatronica' in 2017, 'Visual Mechatronica' in 2018, 'Korean Traditional Music Mechatronica' in 2020, and 'Space Mechatronica' in 2021. It can also be enjoyed live on SK Telecom's Ifland metaverse platform as part of the 'Muta Festival' program.
