AI content company Emotionwave officially announced 'STAR!S' (STARS!S), a next-generation AI-based virtual artist project, at the 'G-Artiens 2025 Connecting Week' held on the 17th at the Daejeon Convention Center.

Jo Seung-hyun, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Emotionwave, emphasized on this day, “With the advancement of technology, an era has opened where anyone can engage in creative activities and simultaneously generate art and profit,” adding, “AI is revolutionizing this industry.”

This is based on the evolution from existing UGC (User Generated Content) to 'UGC to UGC (User Generated Creator)'. CSO Jo stated, “Our goal is to provide an experience where users are not just consuming content, but becoming creators and artists themselves.”

He explained that it is creating a cyclical structure where fans become creators, and creators interact with fans again.

At this event, Emotionwave unveiled 'Project Change: STAR!S,' its first label artist produced using AI production technology. STAR!S is a 5-member K-POP girl band unit born by utilizing the company's AI·AS (Artist Simulation) solutions, and it is a generation-type virtual artist based on a world view that transcends reality and virtuality.

The group consisted of four members from the real world and one from the virtual world. The company revealed that it enhanced the vividness by reflecting the personalities and values of the real members, who were selected through actual auditions, into the storyline.

It also emphasized that AI technology was actively utilized in all major processes, including virtual character creation, video and image teasers, and music production.

Emotionwave presented a prequel containing the world view of STAR!S by displaying webtoons on large screens while a live performance team played. The performance depicts the journey of STAR!S entering the virtual world to resolve the villain group 'Ignis,' which plunged both worlds into chaos.

Emotionwave explained, “We will create a new content ecosystem connecting reality and virtual by continuously releasing various artists and units.”

Chief Strategy Officer Jo Seung-hyun stated, “We have the philosophy that ‘Everyone can be a creator,’ and we are building an open world ecosystem where anyone can apply through an audition platform, participate in creation through artificial intelligence, and promote their content on broadcasting and game platforms.”

The event concluded with showcase videos and performances from STAR!S and the villain group Ignis. Through this announcement, Emotionwave is expected to fully initiate the structural innovation of the AI-based entertainment industry.
