Artificial intelligence (AI) company Emotionwave has signed an Initial Public Offering (IPO) underwriting agreement with Samsung Securities and has fully commenced preparations for a KOSDAQ listing.
Emotionwave announced that it plans to proceed through the listing process in stages, targeting a KOSDAQ listing in the first half of 2027.
The company plans to use the funds secured through this listing to advance its core technologies and expand its global business. Established in 2013, Emotionwave is an AI media company with physical AI and emotional artificial intelligence technology as its core pillars.
Currently, Emotionwave operates based on an AI suite consisting of four products: RIMA, MUTA, AIMPLE, and MEW. Through this, the company is focusing on generative physical AI, which allows AI to understand and reproduce human physical performances such as musical instrument playing and creation; a multi-modal content generation and cross-modal conversion platform for music, video, images, etc.; and emotional artificial intelligence agents that understand human emotions and creative intentions and interact with them.
The company explained that it is providing new content creation and educational environments between creators and users based on these technologies. It particularly emphasized that it is achieving visible results in the global market. The company has secured contracts totaling $20 million from 13 countries, including the United States, Japan, China, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and is also expanding strategic partnerships with global corporations.
It also highlighted intellectual property rights acquisition as a competitive edge. Emotionwave announced that it has built a portfolio of at least 31 patents and trademarks centered on core technology areas such as AI music technology and digital human generation.
The company is also attempting differentiation by stating that it has built its business foundation through technology-based revenue growth rather than relying on large external investments. The plan is to further accelerate product advancement and global market expansion based on its existing growth foundation following the listing.
Samsung Securities evaluated that Emotionwave's technology possesses structural competitiveness that is not easily reverse engineered, and that the company's platform model can be an alternative that meets demand in a market lacking integrated AI solutions.
Emotionwave CEO Rio Jang said, "We are building a next-generation AI platform combining physical AI and emotional artificial intelligence technology," adding, "With Samsung Securities, we will prepare for the IPO systematically and aim to grow into a global AI company with a KOSDAQ listing in the first half of 2027."
