Emotionwave, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) media specialized company, showcased the AI-based entertainment Internet of Things (IoT) system 'RIMA PUBLIC 2021' at the 'Hotel Fair 2021,' the largest hotel industry exhibition held recently.
Rima Public is a customized AI music concert service for public and complex cultural spaces. It was created by combining machine learning and deep learning technologies, which learned the characteristics of music by genre and performer from over 100,000 songs, with AI technology and robotics control technology. It can be applied to various instruments such as piano, drums, guitar, bass, marimba, percussion, and kalimba.
RIMA Public 2021 is an upgraded version that allows the existing RIMA Public service to be applied to hotels as part of the 'K-DIGITAL STAGE' project. K-DIGITAL STAGE is a metaverse performance project based on AIoT, robotics, and extended reality (XR) technology, which was finally selected for the 2021 intelligent Internet of Things (AIoT) application diffusion project hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).
RIMA Public 2021 upgrades the 4K UHD-class media streaming service provided by the existing RIMA Public to 8K class, allowing users to enjoy enhanced immersive media through digital signage. Furthermore, it enables real-time communication with digital musicians linked to the digital signage. To this, XR technology is utilized to increase on-site immersion for visitors and add rich soundscapes.
Additionally, it allows the franchise headquarters to monitor and control the entire system based on IoT. Customers can request music they want to listen to through a smartphone app, and the system recommends music repertoires by device and zone or generates new music suitable for the space based on AI.
RIMA Public Service can perform autonomously for 24 hours in an internet-connected environment without people, allowing it to be utilized in various ways such as unmanned concerts and live music streaming. Through this upgrade, it will also provide integrated sound solutions linked with artificial intelligence-based on-site acoustics (Acoustics) that should be considered when designing hotel interiors and architecture.
Rio Jang, CEO of Emotionwave, said, "For businesses based in offline spaces such as hotels, resorts, and department stores, it is important to provide new experiences to customers who are hesitant to visit due to non-face-to-face issues." He added, "We plan to solve the non-face-to-face issue by applying various technologies such as AIoT, robotics, and XR to music, and provide differentiated content and customer experiences linked with the metaverse."
