Emotionwave, in collaboration with SK Telecom, will host the world's first on/offline mixed music metaverse festival, 'Muta Festival,' at 'ifland,' which is connected to various offline and retail spaces such as Starfield and Hyundai Department Store.
This Muta Festival, running from September until the end of the year, will showcase live broadcasts and events featuring digital humans linked to offline and retail spaces through ifland, as well as the discovery of musicians who will participate in the metaverse and digital twin concerts.
In particular, it is scheduled to be presented through the artists' performances and dances created with volumetric AR technology within a metaverse signature stage connected to each artist's unique musical color. Starting on the 16th at 6 PM, Hyojin Choi, various artists such as Park Wan-kyu and Jin Seon are preparing performances in the metaverse.
Since 2020, Emotionwave has led diverse and unique concerts by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and immersive media technologies, starting with AR concerts linked to actual offline spaces using volumetric technology, and progressing to metaverse concerts that combine digital twin technology between VR virtual performance venues and offline venues, as seen with the AI pianist 'Hanul' showcased in the second half of 2021.
The programs for this Muta Festival are structured with a 'Metaverse Musician Discovery Project' to find musicians who will participate in the metaverse, 'Metaverse Music Concerts' linked to regional festivals, and the world's first digital twin-type metaverse classical concert. These diverse programs are designed to be combined with local offline festivals until the end of the year, aiming to establish a new platform for artist activities in the metaverse environment, providing opportunities for performances, broadcasts, and album releases combined with various technologies, and finding protagonists for performance and broadcast activities in both virtual and real worlds.
Park Sung-hyun, Director at Emotionwave, which is overseeing Muta Festival, stated, "Muta Festival will be a festival that connects many elements such as content, user experience, and experience by linking the actual space and the virtual space using Emotionwave's own metaverse technology and artificial intelligence technology, and it will become a regularly held event."
