[Non-face-to-face Leading Service Company] Emotionwave
, which is participating in the Non-face-to-face Leading Service Demonstration and Distribution Project for Life-Integrated Fields implemented by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), is a venture company established in April 2013. It was founded with the vision of creating a new future in the culture and arts market through technology and services that connect people's hearts.
Emotionwave is developing a non-face-to-face music platform by participating in NIPA's '2021 Life-Integrated Field Non-face-to-face Leading Service Activation Project.' The COVID-19 pandemic has also affected the music market, causing difficulties such as many music academies closing down. To help with this, Emotionwave is promoting the development of a non-face-to-face music platform called 'MEW.' They plan to open the commercial version this month.
'MEW' has five main features. First, it allows for AI-powered 'Curation' and 'Reporting.' It curates educational and appreciation videos tailored to the learner's genre, instrument, and learning level using AI. You no longer have to search for desired educational videos on YouTube or other platforms. Instead of needing to search for videos appropriate for your current skill level, you can learn through the daily curation provided by the 'MEW' platform.
Second, we provide online video education content called 'Every Watching' and appreciation content called 'Every Listening'. Users can view various educational and appreciation videos uploaded by teachers who use the platform. Third is 'EveryPlaying'. Playing is part of Panplay, where subscribers to all platforms can upload their cover videos and create non-face-to-face ensemble performances using them. In today's times when ensemble playing is becoming difficult, this service allows users to experience an ensemble performance alone at home or in a practice room.

Fourth is 'Playtice'. 'Playtice' is a portmanteau of Play + Practice. It is a service where one can learn music by playing games. Depending on the learner's musical level, it presents various problems such as appreciation, performance, music history, and theory, allowing users to naturally build basic music knowledge while learning through games. Fifth are 'Real-time Learning' and 'Teacher Recommendations'. Learners can receive recommendations for suitable teachers using AI and can also receive real-time education through the platform. Test assignments can also be shared non-face-to-face. Teachers can systematically manage students and create and promote curricula by directly uploading educational videos through the platform.
Currently, various platforms such as real-time platforms, CMS platforms, LMS platforms, and expert linkage platforms exist, but there is no single music platform where all experiences can be had at once. For example, currently, learners acquire knowledge by searching on YouTube, select teachers through expert linkage platforms for deficiencies, conduct non-face-to-face classes via real-time meeting apps, and evaluate themselves in person, going through various processes. 'MEW' provides a comprehensive service that eliminates the difficulties faced by both learners and instructors, allowing them to focus solely on education.
Rio Jang, CEO of Emotionwave, stated, "MEW is a subscription system," adding that "we consider everyone who needs music as a customer, including students and teachers, students and academies, students and schools, and audience members and performers." He continued, "Through MEW, instructors and students can take real-time classes and complete assignments and tests. Furthermore, all subscribers can ensemble play and communicate together. Although various platforms have emerged with non-contact measures, since there is no mixed online/offline music education platform in the domestic or international market, we plan to present a new experience to customers using our technology," emphasizing that "through MEW, we will break the existing notion that music can only be done in face-to-face situations and open up a new standard for music education."
Emotionwave plans to launch its offline studio, 'MEW Music Place,' this month. We are also developing and building AI piano, apps, web, and XR environments, and plan to officially commercialize the entire platform service within this month. We have completed filming for advertising marketing materials, which will be distributed through SNS such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram in the future. Furthermore, we plan to export 'MEW' by loading K-pop content to Southeast Asian countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam, as well as Japan, the EU, and the US, in about 8 countries.
Besides 'MEW', the two main services that Emotionwave is currently focusing on are 'RIMA' and 'AIMPLE'. RIMA stands for Robotic Instrumental Music for All and refers to an AI autonomous performance instrument system. It is designed with modules such as drums, guitar, marimba, bass guitar, and percussion instruments, allowing automatic performance using instruments independently developed by Emotionwave. The company stated that it is the "only commercialized automatic performance instrument in Korea." While piano automatic performance systems have existed before, there was no domestic technology for automatic performance on stringed instruments like guitar or bass, or drums. Rio Jang explained, "The system that allows anyone to easily experience automatic performance through modules without damaging the appearance or essence of the instrument is a proprietary technology held only by Emotionwave."

'AIMPLE' is an NFT (Non-fungible Token) based digital artist platform and service. It supports customers who love music in forming their own artists through NFTs, creating their own music with AI composition processes, assetizing it on the platform, and trading it. The company stated that it is a digital artist platform that anyone can easily use to become a singer, performer, or composer.
CEO Jang said, "We are a company aiming for technological innovation through music. We want to grow into an entertainment, and eventually metaverse company beyond just music," adding, "We hope our platform contributes to creating a world where everyone communicates through music." He further expressed his ambition, saying, "Based on MEW, RIMA, AIMPLE, and the future metaverse platform, we want to lead cultural innovation so that people worldwide can unite through K-Culture (K-Culture)."
