Virtual/Augmented Reality (VR/AR) Startup Performance Presentation'NRP Demo Daywill be held over two days from the 12th to the 13thYouTubeetc., in online spaces.
The 'NRP Demo Day' is Gyeonggi Province's representative VR/AR event, and this year, under the theme of 'Expansion of Connection,' it surveys the process by which virtual/augmented reality technology further expands communication and business connections in our lives.
The event is scheduled to feature a total of three sessions: a global developer forum where attendees can hear performance presentations from 32 teams participating in the Virtual/Augmented Reality Enterprise Incubation Program (NRP) and lectures from major domestic and international speakers, and a social XR meetup (business exchange) where participants can meet various companies in a virtual space.
At the performance presentation, 32 teams that were selected for incubation support during an audition last April will participate. These include 11 companies in the idea category, such as Tech Village, which is creating VR rehabilitation content for patients with neurological disorders; 16 companies in the commercialization category, such as Emotionwave, which provides AR concert services; and 5 teams in the public matching category, such as the Nam June Paik Art Center and the Artivibe Consortium, which built an AR audio exhibition guide. They are scheduled to present their achievements over six months.
The forum will feature 16 speakers from both Korea and abroad who will introduce the latest content technology trends, such as 'Success Cases in Virtual Production Industry (Disguise)', 'Exchange Cases between Global XR Companies (Hub Montreal)', and 'The Metaverse Era and New Changes.'
Additionally, at the business exchange, corporate speakers and panelists are scheduled to present and discuss various topics within a VR platform space. The VR platforms include 8 famous domestic and international platforms such as 'Engagee', 'JumpVR', and 'Spatial,' and anyone who wishes to participate (general attendees) can connect and join the respective platform at designated times.
Furthermore, general attendees can also enjoy the venue in a virtual space through the official website. By connecting to the virtual space with their own avatars, participants can actively engage in the event—more so than typical non-face-to-face events focused on video streaming—by watching broadcasts, freely talking with other participants, and taking photos to share on social media.
